If you are looking for a spiritually enriching and challenging home without rigid, closed-minded thinking, this is it ! If you'd like to learn what Unitarians are about, check out "Why You Should Not Be a Unitarian Universalist" by Rev. Gary Larsen on the web. You might be surprised to see what a wonderful alternative is available. I'm am a person who left Catholicism many years ago after 12 years of Catholic school, a family of nuns and priests and I, with Catholic friends did a 2 year study of various religions and at the end, I was a Unitarian Universalist. Unitarians believe in using what many would call God-given gifts, like our minds as well as our hearts in trying to become as healthy a person as possible and at the same time trying to shape our country and the world into a place that is more egalitarian and humane.
I moved recently from Maryland to Florida and have felt like the Ft. Lauderdale UU is a warm, welcoming and interesting home for someone like myself. I've met so many good people, interesting people and caring human beings, I feel fortunate to know how much of a safe haven the UU is from a world that isn't nearly enough this way.Added November 05, 2016 by patricia x
